I am well aware of all the events and festivals going on this weekend in the city, but I'm saving my well deserved long weekend for a trip to the cottage. Probably one of my favourite places in the world.
Cottages are awesome because you can wear your bathing suit all day. It's the first thing you put on in the morning, and don't change out of it until the mosquito's come out at night. Bathing suits are a rarity in the Great White North, and we only get the chance to wear them outside 3 months of the year.
My cottage is particularly awesome because the lake is warm, there are enough open spaces for water sports like tubing, wakeboarding and water skiing, not to mention "the cliffs".
The cliffs are actually a private island owned by a nice old couple from Brockville. People have been jumping off these cliffs into the plummeting waters below for years, since my parents were wee ones, and went out with their siblings.
So basically, what i'm saying here is that I'm super excited for the long weekend, the swimming and hopefully the tanning.
I hope all your weekends will be just as aweomse, and if ur staying in the city, here are some events that may be of interest!

Friends Come and Go
I would like to officially announce I have last two more great friends to the Wild Wild West Canadian Coast. (Not including all those who made the semi-permanent move for the Calgary Stampede)
This brings my total up to 5, which to be fair is not that high, but I'm starting to get the feeling Canada's west coast might have more to offer!
Whats the big deal anyway?
So Banff and Whistler are both ridiculous for snowboarding in the winter, I get it. Vancouver has nice beaches with ocean water warm enough to actually swim in, awesome. The cities are surrounded by snow capped mountains all year round, and tourist attractions like Jasper National Park and Lac Louise are allll on the west coast. Not to mention the job availability and the high salaries out there. Plus, there are great universities and colleges that have good sports teams and support canadian athletes.
So I guess I can see what's causing the move. But I haven't one more questions...
Can I leave yet?!
Haha just kidding. But I'll definetly be making a visit out there this winter for some wicked riding.

Worlwide Hillariousness
Someone sent me this in an email, and it was too good not to share...
For those of you who watch what you eat, here's the final word on nutrition and health.
It's a relief to know the truth after all those conflicting nutritional studies.
1. The Japanese eat very little fat and suffer fewer heart attacks than Americans.
2. The Mexicans eat a lot of fat and suffer fewer heart attacks than Americans.
3. The Chinese drink very little red wine and suffer fewer heart attacks than Americans.
4. The Italians drink a lot of red wine and suffer fewer heart attacks than Americans.
5. The Germans drink a lot of beers and eat lots of sausages and fats and suffer fewer heart attacks than Americans.
CONCLUSION= Eat and drink what you like. Speaking English is apparently what kills you.

Why is this so hard?
So for the past 6 months I've been working for a small company. I started part time, finished school for the semester, and jumped onto the "full time- 9-5" boat, thinking it was gonna be all it cracked up to be, smooth sailing. YESS!!! were my thoughts exactly...
So now it's been 6 months. I would say I've done a good job so far, minor mistakes here and there, but hey, who's counting (they for sure are). And I feel it's time to ask for a *duh dun dun* RAISE. I've felt this for the past week or so, and have yet to come up with a solid way to approach this. Is there a way? Is there some sort of written code detailing how to go about doing this?! I am totally freaking out as this is issue is getting more and more crucial, and my work load continues to grow and grow...
Here goes nothing, wish me luck!

Saturdays
Saturday is the day of champions. It's the first official start of the weekend, completely surrounded by the awesome friday night and the relaxing sunday morning. Saturday is the end to all the weekly routine bullshit and the begining of something beautiful. Something with spontenaety, with excitment, something with no rules.
Freedom!
The chains wrapped around your wirsts and ankles during the week, the ones that make you answer emails, communicate with clients and zone out life, start to loosen and give you more room to move, to dance and to actually enjoy life.
Here are some reasons why Saturday is the best friggin day of the week.
1. On saturday morning, your not worried about what time you wake up, too late too early, who cares.
2. On saturday morning, you actually have time to enjoy a full and healthy breakfast to start your day
3. On saturday morning, you don't have to pick out something to wear until at least noon.
4. On saturday morning, you don't have to drive through traffic to get anywhere.
5. On saturday morning, you can sit outside with a coffee in your pjs and no one is judging the fact you are not at work.
I friggin love saturdays, don't u?
