Personally, I'm not a huge fan of the whole reality TV addiction. But I have to admit, the networks are getting pretty good at stealing my attention. I don't normally "follow" TV shows in the least, but this summer, my eyes are glued to TWO! shows. Thats right, not just one but two.
First off we have the always anticipated Big Brother on CBC (CBS i think in the states).
I did watch last season with Jeff and Jordan (yes!), and was gunning for them all the way. I saw my first Big Brother season when I lived in England, and the US has done a pretty good job at keeping this reality show interesting. For this seasons Big Brother 12, I'm on team Ragan and Enzo!!! This show is nearly impossible to keep up with, as it plays 3 nights a week, but you can generelly find episodes online if you missed it!
Big Brother play on CBC on wednesdays, thursdays and sundays at 8pm EST. Don't miss it!!!
My second top guilty reality TV show pleasure is the unmistakable Jersey Shore!!!! For some odd reason, these guidos and guidettes have truely captured my heart. I still haven't decided whether it's because they are so ridiculous, or hillarious. I'm thinkin it's a bit of both that make these "characters" so real. Snooky, I got your back girl! Vinny is my absolute fav of the boys, I have a soft spot for boys with morals and a strong family support network!
Jersey Shore plays on MTV on thrusdays at 8pm EST. But again, you can always catch episodes online, or the re-runs on MTV.
Thats it for now! Don't forget to watch these shows, they'll get you hooked!
Love Always,
C

Curren$y live in Canada!
The Oxyrotin clothing label recently held a very successful launch party here in Ottawa. The designers took on the role of promoters, scored a wicked underground hip hop artist to perform live. Curren$y came all the way up to Ottawa from New Orleans to do his first out of country show, and Oxyrotin made it happen! Check out the real life process Sean and Mitch fr Oxyrotin went through to make their show happen.

Life After Graduation
I find myself sitting at a desk, in a 9-5'er. Exactly where I wanted to be after I spent three years of education? Not quite. DO NOT FEAR!!
I find myself thinking back to a presentation we had in one of my fav classes. Wendy Threader's Transition to Marketing Professional class. We had a guest speaker come in named Dave Stubbs. What a guy! Dave started multiple companies from scratch. Built them up, right from the bottom, and turned each one into a successful venture. And his presentation was based around a saying. A saying he asked (and probably still asks) himself when he was in his very first "professional" type job. What's the saying you ask?
"This can't be it.."
Thats it. Thats all he needed to say to himself to realize there was more out there. More for him to conquer, more for him to explore, and most importantly, more for him to live and learn from.
Three months after my final graduation ceremony, I find myself asking the same question. This can't be it.

WINTER! It's almost over
I'm not sure whether to be excited February is over (the worst has past) and summer is a few months away, or to be totally dissapoint by this amazing winter's end. Since I haven't written since 3 months B.S. (before snow), heres a quick re-cap on this past winter in Ottawa.
The weather has been super warm!!!! We had rain in december which did a number of the snowboarding season. Before this week, we haven't seen a proper snow fall since New Years.
New years was awesome, AS USUAL! No british friends to celebrate with us this year, but we managed to adhere to a consistant new years plan....Champagne anyone?
Snowboarding was wicked this year. A little damper in december neveer hurt anyone, and we managed to hit the slopes either way. YOU CAN'T STOP US!!! Shout out to my tremblant homies :)
VANCOUVE 2010 OLYMPICS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I have never wanted to be out west so bad in my entire life. Just the thought of missing all that action brings an ache to my heart. Canada has been kicking ass! Special shout out to Maelle Rickards for the snowboarding cross gold!!!!!

Summers gone- DON'T BE SAD!
Summer was officially over this week, and Mother Nature was right on cue. Brrrrrrr
(Twice (!) this week my coffee was cold before i got into my car for the tedious half hour drive to my place of learning.)
As it is every year, the end of summer means great things are coming. You need to prep yourself for the cold months, so your not dissapointed once they get here!
I present to you my list of things to look forward to for the upcoming months, in order of occurance.
1. My birthday! ---(its the 28th of sept, incase you want to get me a present ; )
2. Friends from the UK always come and visit at the beginning of october----This calls for late birthday celebrations and serious alcohol abuse fo 16 days..
3. Cold weather means new clothes!!--- Please do not let me catch you in something soooo last year...
-----> TIP! Rubber boots (or wellies for my London'ers) make an excellent winter boot option. Keep u warm AND dry, unlike another classic winter boot option we have all been wearing (cough uggs cough cough)
4. Hockey season starts up again. GO SENS GO! Local Hero's bus is always an adventure, also it's a cheap ride and we do not have to designate a DD. (american football starts too, but I can't say I'm a loyal fan)
p.s. I'll be @ Sens vs penguins on oct 12, wearing my sens tube socks...try and spot me!
5. Thanksgiving..mmm turkey. I love thanksgiving dinner, gives the whole family (from far and wide) a chance to get together, enjoy each others company and enjoy a nice meal.
6. The snow is coming. Sure, we complain about it constantly, but deep down, if your canadian, you can't help but love that snap, crackle pop the snow makes when you take that dash from ur car to the front door....while trying to avaid wind burn....and frost bite...and ice pellets in your eyes... on your way there.
7. Snow can only mean one thing...snowboarding. YESSSS! can't waaaiiittt to get up on the hills again, I'm planning to take a few risks this year, wish me luck! The hot tub, wine and beer after snowboarding makes it my favourite occasion.
8.Christmas is only 3 months away!!--- Start shopping now to avoid serious overdraft come December : S (guilty!)
9. New years Eve Celebration--- Let's keep up with tradition. Start planning ur news years now to avaid dissapointment when you can't book a hotel, or don't have tickets (because if your gonna have a good time on new years, tickets are generally involved)
and last but not least...
10. School is almost over...alllmoossttt. This one keeps me going through both fall and winter semesters... when the light at the end of the tunnel is getting dim (probably just around exam time), and you have no hope to pass that quantitative measures class, think of number 10...you ARE getting closer and you're ALMOST done...
Make ur own list of things to look forward to. When ya just aren't getting enough vitamin D to keep up ur spirits, remind urself!

Long Weekend...Woooo!
I am well aware of all the events and festivals going on this weekend in the city, but I'm saving my well deserved long weekend for a trip to the cottage. Probably one of my favourite places in the world.
Cottages are awesome because you can wear your bathing suit all day. It's the first thing you put on in the morning, and don't change out of it until the mosquito's come out at night. Bathing suits are a rarity in the Great White North, and we only get the chance to wear them outside 3 months of the year.
My cottage is particularly awesome because the lake is warm, there are enough open spaces for water sports like tubing, wakeboarding and water skiing, not to mention "the cliffs".
The cliffs are actually a private island owned by a nice old couple from Brockville. People have been jumping off these cliffs into the plummeting waters below for years, since my parents were wee ones, and went out with their siblings.
So basically, what i'm saying here is that I'm super excited for the long weekend, the swimming and hopefully the tanning.
I hope all your weekends will be just as aweomse, and if ur staying in the city, here are some events that may be of interest!

Friends Come and Go
I would like to officially announce I have last two more great friends to the Wild Wild West Canadian Coast. (Not including all those who made the semi-permanent move for the Calgary Stampede)
This brings my total up to 5, which to be fair is not that high, but I'm starting to get the feeling Canada's west coast might have more to offer!
Whats the big deal anyway?
So Banff and Whistler are both ridiculous for snowboarding in the winter, I get it. Vancouver has nice beaches with ocean water warm enough to actually swim in, awesome. The cities are surrounded by snow capped mountains all year round, and tourist attractions like Jasper National Park and Lac Louise are allll on the west coast. Not to mention the job availability and the high salaries out there. Plus, there are great universities and colleges that have good sports teams and support canadian athletes.
So I guess I can see what's causing the move. But I haven't one more questions...
Can I leave yet?!
Haha just kidding. But I'll definetly be making a visit out there this winter for some wicked riding.
Check Out this 2009 snowboarding video (full of hotties might I add)
